I’m gonna guess the answer about why 9 days lays somewhere in the 180 day ADM marker and easy math for that.

It is hard to believe that the experts who compiled the 77-page report on school absenteeism didn't list what is probably the most common reason kids are absent. That reason, for high school students anyway, is that they would rather sleep in late, stay home, and play video games than go to school. Are these professionals kidding me? It looks like they are more interested in excusing kids than holding them accountable. I am not saying that many of their listed reasons are not in play, especially in K-8, but their wilful blindness to a major cause is troubling.
