Can someone please run and officially retire Grandpa Horne?!! How embarrassing. At least when he makes these "threats", he included key far-right "FoxNewsy" words like "DEI" and "woke." He did forget though to add "Biden", "Obama" and "extreme liberal agenda."

Watching the press conference was both depressing and hilarious. None of those complaining about the curriculum had actually read the textbook and their key arguments are easily disproved. The fact that Horne failed to even call Dr Menzel or anyone in admin at SUSD to express his concerns or ask any questions before staging a press conference tells you all you need to know- this was nothing but dumb and wasteful political theatre. One would think that Horne has more pressing issues facing K-12 education in Arizona on which to spend his time. But, at his advanced age, perhaps he has trouble staying focused? And, I wonder if any reporters will follow up on if Horne intends to threaten defunding the many charter schools using the same textbook? (And, for the record, just in case Horne reads The Agenda, one of the “woke” school board members that voted for this curriculum was once a republican precinct captain. The other two “woke” gov board members are wonky computer data analyst nerds. Accurately teaching US History doesn’t make a person “woke” except in Tom Horne’s rapidly aging mind.)

The Scottsdale Independent wrote about him. It looks like he wants to push extreme right politics into the schools.

The idea that the orange menace is coming for our public lands is kind of the last straw. When his supporters find themselves without medicare, food assistance, civil and constitutional rights and even a place to walk off the stress all of this has produced, will they cheer the billionaires who sit in the fat pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
