For CD1, Democrat Amish Shah is also running (unless he has dropped out), and the FEC shows him as having received 554K up to now and having 368K on hand. Note: this is not an endorsement of Shah - at this point at least, I'm neutral in the primary. (See https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/house/AZ/01/2024/ for the information).

You're totally right . A few people flagged that I forgot ole Dr. Shah. My bad all! Added, with a correction. Will add a correction in the Wednesday email too.

The state allows a foreign company to buy unknown quantities of cheap water and the Navajo Nation is begging the Feds to complete a promised pipe line so their people have water. Am I living in upside down land?

Great articles as usual. A few notes . . . I didn't know Tom Horne had those issues. Still shocked he somehow got back in the game after his former terrible performance.

Also happy that Kris Mayes is going to do something about the Saudi water issue! Yaay

I don’t understand why Independents and No Labels aren’t the same thing. What policy differences are there?

Expand full comment

It's because No Labels is an actual party (at least in Arizona) with a platform of centrism. "Independents" are actually known as "No Party Designated" because they do not have a party or a unifying platform other than they are neither Republican, Democrat, No Labels, Libertarian or Green (which isn't a party here anymore anyway)
