When my husband passed away last year, I learned a standard obituary in the AZ Republic costs $500. I thought obituaries were printed for the public good. Would it be possible to bring back this service in addition to running ads?
Oh I'm so sorry. That's hard. I had never considered obits. Seems like we would be an odd fit, what with all the jokes and snark. But if you wanted to run an obit for him, i'd be happy to do it free of charge. (Though it may require a little explanation for our audience...)

No, no, that's okay. I just think most newspapers are not thinking of doing a public service any more. They just want money.
Yeah I get they have to pay the bills but $500 is a lot, especially when someone is going through that. Probably costs them $5 in ink and paper.
Chicken-Bleep AZ Daily Star. Used to be a damned good newspaper.
