As a cosponsor and big proponent of SB1070, I wanted to clear up two historical facts. First, the US Supreme Court did not gut SB1070. It’s two major provisions which banned sanctuary cities and allowed police officers to question a person’s immigration status, if they have reasonable suspicion, were upheld by the Supreme Court. Regarding, the provisions that were declared unconstitutional, those were Hail Mary provisions that we knew were questionable, but we put them up because we had nothing to lose.
PS. If the democrats dislike the immigration laws ICE is enforcing, why didn’t they repeal them when they held the presidency and both chamber’s of Congress.
While some critics accused the Biden administration of protecting powerful figures, the reality is more complicated. Much of the Epstein material is under judicial seal, meaning the executive branch cannot simply order its release. Those decisions rest with federal judges, who must balance public interest against privacy and due process rights.
In addition, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has long maintained that certain Epstein-related documents remain part of ongoing investigations. During Biden’s presidency, Attorney General Merrick Garland and senior DOJ officials stated that some of the files included evidence or witness testimony connected to active or potential prosecutions.
Disclosing that information could have jeopardized legal proceedings or revealed sensitive details about uncharged individuals. The department also emphasized compliance with the Crime Victims’ Rights Act, which protects the identities of sexual assault survivors.
Under that law, releasing unredacted documents that could expose victims — even indirectly — would violate federal protections. For that reason, many Epstein case materials were either withheld entirely or released with significant redactions.

The victims to which you refer were on 60 minutes last night vying for media attention.....such hogwash and DOJ has no active cases on this matter.

When clicked on the link you supplied the reporting indicated the Governor and Immigration rights advocates made that claim, with zero proof-The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has strongly denied these specific claims, labeling them a "hoax" and a "disgusting lie". DHS officials stated that children were never zip-tied and clarified that a viral image claiming to show this was from a TikTok parody video where the officer was the child's father.
Please don't become another left-wing rag that cannot be trust for accurate reporting.

Criminals should be zip tied-it keeps both the suspect and the agents safe. US citizens are arrested everyday-some convicted later and some not, but you have to trust the system or you have anarchy.
So an ICE agent could just walk up to you, thinking your a Canadian illegal, zip tie you, put you in a detention center, move you around so your family nor lawyer can find you without due process and you are just fine with that. BTW they don’t have a warrant, they show you no id are masked and in an unmarked car. That’s just alrighty then. A year later, then let you go with an oopsie. Let’s go with that.
