Republicans never include Dems in budget negotiations. Every two years, I have my hopes crushed, when the far right Republicans gain a majority in the lege. Even if they only have a one or two seat majority, they legislate as if lawmakers from the other side don't even exist.
For over 30 years, Rs have had the majority in the lege. And here we are.
"We the People" have no involvement. Not a comment. No discussion. Nothing. We don't exist. Only the incestuous Republican majority have a say in what happens to us. We are the chew-toy that the House & Senate are mouthing right now in their votes.
I am totally fed up with our legislature and governor and their containing inability to act like grownups and work out a budget agreement. Doing the people’s business is what we elect them for. Looks like gamesmanship is what we get. A sad state of affairs.
Let's get some toads. Put them on a buffet table. Invite the Legislature for a snack. Throw them in a room. Tell them to hum a few bars of "In the good old summertime".

The Senate and Governor have worked out a budget. It's the clowns in the House that are putting on a show before they (hopefully) pass it.
"I would like to recite one of my favorite music lyrics from the band The Eagles: ‘You can check out any time you’d like, but you can never leave...."
Narrator: You can leave

In the good old summertime is a 1949 film. Rs want to take us back to that time.
