Do you have any idea what a car costs? The insurance, gas, up keep, tires, batteries? So the light rail is a waste of money? Maybe for you personally but not for the people of Phoenix who use light rail to get around for work and play much cheaper, less hassle and more safely. I've been hearing for years that the Legislature won't allow light-rail to get close to them, I'm assuming they don't want the masses to have easy access for protests, etc. Pretty crazy that we can't connect our downtown with our Capital, especially given the close proximity and since they were probably connected via our now-defunct trolley system before car culture took over.
